Starseed is centered on Loveness, a preteen girl with albinism living in the Zimbabwean township of Los Angeles, along with her spirited friends, Dumi and Gloria. Their world is parched by drought; the local river has dried up, and with it, Magagasi, the half-fish, half-snake river Goddess, has vanished. When King Black, a mysterious visitor claiming to come from the future appears, Loveness and her friends embark on an adventure involving time travel, mythology, and the search for Magagasi, whose disappearance is linked to the community’s crisis.
