Short Stories about Love and Space in Cartoon Movie 2025: International Projects to Watch
Anca Damian used the Cartoon Movie stage to show off her creativity and genius with Short Stories about Love and Space. The Romanian filmmaker takes inspiration from Seattle’s iconic Space Needle, as well as Elon Musk’s development of space rockets, and not forgetting his numerous accidents in this new space race, to create a complex immersion in science fiction.
The story, which will take place in just 24 hours – specifically during the New Year’s Eve that separates 2031 from 2032 – takes us to the American city for a spectacular celebration overshadowed by an incident that results in a strange temporal collision, which will fully impact the past, present and future of four strangers whose paths will be intertwined forever. One of the most celebrated projects of the forum, and one that has everything to extend the legacy of the multi-laureate filmmaker.
